SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES AT CACKLEBERRY APIARY:
Our beautiful handmade boxes are made from recycled, post consumer paperstock, and printed with Soy based inks. Some of the boxes are made of recycled pretty calender pages.
Most readily available candles on the market are made with paraffin or a petroleum byproduct which is chemically bleached, texturized with carcinogens and artificially scented. Burning paraffin emits harmful soot and pollution into the air that we breathe. Beeswax actually cleans the air as it burns emitting negative ions that attack pollutants. It is naturally aromatic infused with the sweet scent of honey. Due to its high burning temperature beeswax candles have exceptionally long burn times with a flame that is always steady radiant and inviting. They are the most healthy, natural, and economical candle you can burn.
We feed the chickens organic feed and waste from the gardens and then compost the chicken manure to apply to the garden , creating a sustainable cycle of harvesting and feeding that omits chemical fertilizers. Herbs from the garden are used in many of our products.
The cosmetic containers we use are recyclable. We use as much green material as reasonably possible. If you recieve a package with those pesky but cushiony peanuts, you can rest assured they have been recycled. You may receive a shipment from us in a reused cardboard box, packed with recycled bubble wrap and recycled packing peanuts. Our friends are overjoyed to have found that we'll recycle these items for them, and we're tickled that we don't have to buy it. This keeps costs down for us, and thus for you too.
In an effort to reduce the amount of waste generated, we do not include paper invoices in your packages. Please save a copy of the invoice you receive via e-mail for future reference.
